Reflections on Roo . . .

Well, we made the bajillion mile trek to Bonnaroo this year. Boy was it an experience! I'll keep it to highlights and one major story:
Camping with my long lost BF - awesome
Hearing the Flecktones play new material by Jeff Coffin - thrilling

Finally seeing Grace Potter - impressive
Following the tune of Brothers Past without knowing who played it - surprising
Realizing I like Medeski, Martin and Wood - worthwhile
But the most wild, cool, synchronous, freaky thing that happened at Bonnaroo . . .
Drumroll please
Seeing Phil! (And I don't mean Lesh either!)

Some monk peddled his book at our camp, whilst we cleaned and packed-up. I said, "No thanks, man." But then, I thought:
I should have been nicer to that guy.
I turned and looked up from what I was doing and said, "Phil?" He turned around and, sure enough, it was he. An old high school boyfriend who moved to California and became a monk! Blast from the past! Call it karma or fate or energy or whatever you want -- I call it incredible.
